Ombra ("the app") is an Italian listening and shadowing practice app. This policy explains exactly what the app does with data. The short version: the app does not ask for an account, does not collect your name, email address, or location, and does not track you across other apps or websites. It does collect anonymous statistics about how the app itself is used, and it sends feedback that you choose to write. Both are described below.

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used, so that it can be improved. What is sent:
What is never sent: your name, email address, precise location, contacts, or any text you type. Anything written in a free-text field is excluded from analytics entirely.
The app instance identifier is a random value created on your device. It is not your Apple ID, and it is not the advertising identifier (IDFA) — the app is configured to disable advertising-identifier collection in Firebase. None of this data is used to build an advertising profile or shared for advertising purposes. Deleting and reinstalling the app creates a new identifier. See Firebase's privacy documentation for how Google handles this data.
The app has two optional buttons: "Report this sentence" and "Send feedback about Ombra". If you fill one in and tap send, what you wrote is transmitted to the developer so that it can be read and acted on. This is the only situation in which text you have typed leaves your device.
What is sent: the category you selected, your comment, and — for a sentence report — the Italian sentence and course concerned, plus the app version and platform. Nothing is attached that identifies you. If a message cannot be sent immediately, it stays on your device and is retried the next time the app opens.
These messages pass through Cloudflare Workers, which acts as a relay and may process your IP address in order to deliver the request and prevent abuse. They are delivered to a private channel that only the developer can read, kept for as long as they are useful for fixing the app, and used for nothing else.

The app does not require or offer an account. It does not use the advertising identifier for tracking, does not follow you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not sell or share personal data. For this reason the app does not show the "Allow tracking" prompt.
The free version of the app may display advertisements served by Google AdMob. The app requests non-personalized ads only, meaning ads are not targeted based on your interests or an advertising profile. To serve these ads, AdMob may still collect device identifiers, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Ads appear only on the session summary screen, never while you are practising. Purchasing the ad-free upgrade removes advertisements entirely. The app itself does not share any of your practice data with advertisers.
The app contains a "Support the developer" link. Tapping it leaves Ombra and opens a page on the developer's website in your browser. That page contains affiliate links to third-party travel services, which is disclosed on the page itself.
Once you leave the app, each website's own privacy policy applies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Ombra does not receive any information about what you do after following the link, and does not pass any information about you when opening it.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent identifying information through the feedback form, contact the address below and it will be deleted.
If we add features that change how data is handled — for example, an optional account for syncing progress between devices — this policy will be updated before the feature is released, and the changes will be announced in the app or in release notes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
